Workshop and Stores

The Workshops & Stores module is used to monitor the day to day running of internally maintained workshops and stores.

A Workshop is the location where work is undertaken for an Inventory Item. Each job must be assigned to a specific workshop. An unlimited number of workshops can be created each with their own charge profile. The module holds all the policy rules for the operation of the workshop including:

  • Hours of operation
  • Charge rates
  • Contract maintenance
  • Job Types
  • Parts & Schedules
  • Labour Schedules
  • Technicians

Workshop jobs can, initially, be created as an estimate detailing all of the labour schedule items along with stock and non-stock issues. Estimates can be converted into full workshop jobs and progressed through to the work being completed and charges raised against the customer.

A Store is the physical location where parts are stored. The Stores module uses either a central or satellite parts catalogue and allocates these parts to separate stores. DRIVE enables the management of stores information so that suppliers, parts and stock levels can be effectively monitored. In addition to stock adjustments, stock transfers, stock checks and over the counter parts sales are catered for.

The Workshop & Stores module can be fully integrated with the Work Authorisation module in order that the Work Authorisation function can manage the maintenance carried out by both external suppliers and internal workshops.

Workshop Jobs can be charged back to the customer via the Work Authorisation module by using the integration functionality however the existing Workshop Job functionality remains the same and customers can be charged directly from a Workshop Job.
